Enrollment for postal support employees

Make the most of your Postal Service Health Benefits by enrolling in APWU Health Plan during Open Season, November 9 – December 14, 2026.

Elevate your benefits as a PSE

  • When you're hired as a PSE, you may enroll in the USPS health plan for non-career employees.
  • After you complete one year of service, you become eligible for our Consumer Driven Option. (If you choose to enroll in any other PSHB health plan, you must pay the full premiums for that plan, both the employee and government premiums.) With our plan, the USPS pays up to 75% of your premium.
  • Once you convert to career and have been in PSHB for one year, the premium drops to the APWU special rate. Time enrolled as a PSE in the Consumer Driven Option counts toward the one-year requirement when you convert to career.

To enroll online: Visit the Health Benefits Enrollment Center.

To enroll by mail: Complete the Employee Health Benefits Election Form (standard form 2809).

Special Rates During Open Season Enrollment

Important Notice:
The PSHB Enrollment system will not show the APWU contractually negotiated rates for the Consumer Driven Option.

If you are eligible, your biweekly 2026 plan year rates are as follows:

  • $30.16 for Self Only
  • $70.60 for Self Plus One
  • $82.48 for Self & Family

The correct rates will be applied when USPS sets up your payroll deductions.
